Max and Rachel’s attempts to distance themselves from the Costa del Sol drug runners fails miserably and they are forced to hand over a large slice of equity in their Brazilian development to be used as a money-laundering scheme.  Max unwisely vouches for his feckless brother Paolo to front the deal and to be the main contact in Brazil but as usual, Paolo can’t control his urge to party and gamble particularly in a city where both vices are easily sated.

Back in Spain Jack and Bridget start to build their new lives thinking that they have the perfect plan for retirement with highly explosive information hidden away on the dark web keeping them on the untouchables list.  All should be well but you can never plan for stupid…stupid is as stupid does.  The resulting technology-led chaos threatens to bring down the Irish Senate, the Northern Ireland Executive and even strikes at the heart of the UK government.

The story reaches its conclusion with a gun battle on the streets of Rio de Janeiro which finds Max facing a stark life or death choice.

Typical of Neil Andrews writing, Viva Brazil is a character and narrative-driven, fast-paced, thrilling exotic adventure with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing and wanting to read more…

After recovering from the firebombing of their lap dancing club Max and Rachel set about repairing their damaged relationship and trying to avoid getting pulled further into the murky world of drugs trafficking and money laundering but Jack and Bashar have no intention of cutting them loose, pursuing the money man behind the firebombing and leaving them further in their debt.

The story twists and turns as their silky smooth friend turns out to be a control freak with a penchant for beating up women and a small-time money launderer for the Russian Mafia in Marbella.  An attempt to stop his sordid practices and a handover to his Russian friends results in him paying the ultimate price in retribution.

Determined to rebuild their life Max and Rachel implement Plan ‘B,’ which involves a fake Will to repatriate a dead drug dealers hidden assets, involving their street-savvy dancer/legal advisor Lynette in exchange for a share of the spoils.  The story sees her travel around the world’s offshore tax havens where she finds unexpected resistance and threats of violence leading to further problems in her love/hate relationship with Bashar who remains conflicted by his desire to live a dual Arabic and British life.

Retribution is the second book by Neil Andrews in the Dirty Money Series and is a more than worthy sequel to ‘Who did you upset?’  Fast-paced, exotic, erotically charged and full of twists, readers are treated to yet another ‘page-turner’ and will find it hard to put down.

How much can one man take?

With his strip-club consumed by flames, long-term relationship in tatters and a group of Underworld heavies seeking revenge, Max is a man struggling just to survive.

The story begins in sun and alcohol-soaked Costa del Sol, where Max has made and lost a fortune in real-estate. With his girlfriend of ten years, Rachel, life is now a monotonous drudge of apartment management and tumblers of Barcardi and Coke; The Pussycat Lounge, run by his brother and stripper girlfriend Crystal, and a plot of land in Brazil are the only investments left.

A drug-fuelled party awakens his need for excitement and Max is soon exploring the unspoken side of Costa del Sol life. He meets Jochem, a laidback Dutchman with a penchant for hashish cakes and Bill, a lonely older man seemingly without a history. Then there’s heavily tattooed Irish Jack with his import/export business and ‘office’ at the back of a bar.  But like everything in the Costa del Sol, not everything – nor everyone – is all that it seems. So, when Bill invites him on a ‘boys only’ sailing trip to Morocco, little does Max know he’ll soon be ensnared into the very heart of the Costa del Sol Underworld. Sinister events and an erotic one night stand soon shatter his glamourous new life sending him on a harrowing escape through the Spanish countryside to England.

Returning to the UK and his burned-out strip-club, Max must do everything he can to salvage what’s left. But time is running out. With a bag of uncut diamonds and other ‘contraband’, he knows he must focus or he’ll lose everything… even his life.

Neil Andrews' debut novel, Who Did You Upset? is a fast-paced thrilling exotic adventure gripping you from the first page.  Erotically charged with uniquely drawn characters, you’ll be pulled into Max’s troubled world and cheering for him to beat the odds, get the girl and resurrect his life.

The inspiration behind the story:

My friends lap dancing club was actually firebombed leading to the question “Who did you upset?”

Car crashes into club

Regent Circus Fire at Dream Lounge Gentleman's Club

In one of the interviews with the owner if you listen carefully you may even hear the famous line for which he is ribbed mercilessly….”That there fire door saved my life it did...”  You need to say this in a strong West Country accent to get the best from it.

The Insider http://roadblockpublications.com/product/the-insider/ Mon, 07 Aug 2017 12:58:35 +0000 https://kittdigital.com/roadblock/?post_type=product&p=154

A fascinating fast moving thriller: Blackmail, murder, intrigue, East End heavies and China Town Triads…You will never look at ’The City of London’ and Bankers the same way again. Chasing a corporate deal people hunt for information by ransacking bins, tracking people’s movements and finding anything they can use to gain an edge. People talk, partners, lovers, drunken nights, the motivators of individuals are both far reaching and self-serving but the opportunity to make a bit of money on the side by dealing in the shares of the target calls to human nature affecting bottom feeders and high rollers alike.

The inspiration behind the story

Having worked in business for many years I have been involved in numerous company purchases and sales some of which have gone smoothly and some of which have left many a frayed nerve. Generally, people are relatively open and honest but there is a significant minority who play by their own rules and use any trick in the book to get a better position for themselves or their compatriots. This is especially prevalent in the City merchant banks where morals are shall we say ‘much looser’ than you would hope and the deal is everything no matter how it is achieved. The 2008 financial collapse should be all of the evidence you need!

On the other side of the Chinese wall on the dealing side of the bank you will find young men and women under huge pressure to advise clients to buy and sell shares - ‘The Analysts’. Many that I met were honest, professional, knowledgeable and upstanding, some were out of their depth or even bare face liars. Maybe the title should be ‘Snakepit’, you will rarely see more serpents than you do in the City. I for one am glad that I no longer have to deal with the lies and attempted market manipulations. Writing this book has in many ways been cathartic.
